Wisdom Ignored, Could be Wisdom Lost Proverbs 1:24-31

Powered by RedCircle

In this episode, Isaac helps fathers teach Proverbs 1:24-31 to their families. He walks dads through God's warning to those who ignore His call, refuse His outstretched hand, and reject correction, and the sobering consequence that follows: when calamity strikes, those who despised wisdom will call out but not be answered, because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord. Use this episode as a launching point to talk with your kids about learning from correction now, before harder consequences force the lesson later, and ask them to share a time they learned from a mistake.

Isaac also shares a Resolute Men Tip from Episode 11, Master the Art of Marriage Communication, challenging men to bring the same intensity to their marriage that they'd bring to fixing a broken business, since a marriage is always either getting better or worse, never staying the same. As the God-authorized leader of the home, the responsibility to lead change starts with you. He teaches on the worn rhythms of communication, behavior, and nonverbals that build up over years, and offers a "positive disruption," one intentional change in how you respond or show up, committed to for seven days, as a way to shift those rhythms. He closes by reminding dads that their children are watching their marriage, and asks whether what they see makes them want that kind of marriage someday.
